"Project: Blue Voice" is designed for the LGBT community as a way of expressing your opinions as well as let your voice be heard by not only your local community, but other communities in a fight to end hate crimes worldwide. If you or someone you know has been affected by a hate crime which includes but is not limited to: Bullying, Cyber Bullying, Derogatory Statements, Personal Slander, Personal Injury due to Sexual Orientation, or any others that may have affected ones career or life in a negative manner. |
The Object of "Project Blue Voice": |
| "Project Blue Voice" is to vocalize the opinions and stories of either you or someone you know on a personal level that has been affected by a hate crime, in a fight to end hate crimes worldwide. |
| The first step is to upload a video to our
Facebook Page, ranging anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes including this information: the state you reside (do not include physical city), your age, gender, and nationality, sharing a personal story of your own as well as a story of someone you know who was affected by a hate crime which may no longer be with us and can no longer speak for them self. In the video if you are sharing a personal story of your own, you should be wearing a solid blue mask like those seen worn in Phantom of the Opera only showing half of your face and concealing one half of your identity. If you are sharing a story of a loved one or someone you know who is no longer with us, you should be wearing a solid blue mask covering the entire face concealing all of your identity as you are telling a story of one who can no longer speak for themself. Be as explicit as personally comfortable with the details pertaining to your experience, and speak from the heart.
What does the mask represent?? |
| The color blue represents the pain you experience from each of these events taking place as well as the suffering you go through from words of hate aimed at you and the rest of the LGBT community. The mask represents a piece of you that has been taken away by these crimes, and a part of your life that is missing. That is why as you speak you only see the emotion from half of your face while the other half remains completely emotionless. |
What will these stories do for me?? |
| The details told in each of your stories are an important part in this fight to end hate crimes. The more explicit the better, as each individual needs to hear your voice not only from the outside but from the inside as well. Your stories will help the world see the pain and suffering each of us are put through on a daily basis and allow them to see what really happens in the life of the LGBT community.
